In this lecture Mikko will demonstrate the use of portable spectroscopical instruments in screening and identification of natural and synthetic diamonds. In the seminar we will focus on the use of Magilabs Gemmo-series instruments, such as GemmoRaman, GemmoFTIR, GemmoSphere (UV-Vis-NIR) and EXA/J-SCREEN photoluminescence spectrometer. The proper interpretation of the results, important decision making rules and limitations of each technology will be discussed
