To provide further analysis on a diamond, the use of additional methods is desirable. Observing birefringence patterns through crossed polarized filters using ‘StrainView’ can be useful for loose diamonds, but these observations can be inconclusive, for which PL and absorption spectroscopy can reveal signatures of a diamond’s origin.
