During October 2024 visit to Surat (India), Branko Deljanin visited several CVD factories, observed large crystal clusters, and collected samples of as-grown, HPHT-treated, and LPHT (Low Pressure High Temperature)–treated CVD diamonds for research and education. Irradiated HPHT-grown melee diamonds (no phosphorescence under SW) were sold as CVD-grown! The cost of growing, cutting, and processing CVD diamonds has reached record lows – USD $90 /ct.
In October 2025, Branko examined a dozen new-generation CVD-grown diamonds from Dubai, produced using a one-step “Plasmability” CVD process developed in the USA. New CVD cannot be separated form natural using portable instruments — a microscope (showing VS–VVS clarity with some SI1 inclusions), a portable polariscope (revealing strain and multicolored patterns similar to natural Type I diamonds), and LW/SW UV lamps (no reaction).
Come to 1h webinar by international expert Branko Deljanin to learn what combination of instruments to use to detect new Laboratory-Grown Diamonds from India and Dubai.
